Single Value Import
Use Single Value Import to link figures in your financial statement notes to cells in Excel, so numbers stay aligned with your source workbook.
When To Use It
- You want a reliable link between narrative text in the financial statements and the Excel source.
- You want to avoid outdated figures when underlying Excel data changes.
- You want to refresh all linked figures in the notes quickly after the workbook is updated.
Step-by-Step
- Open your Word document where you will import single cell value.

And Excel test file. - Open the LedgerQ add-in pane.
- In the LedgerQ ribbon, Account section, choose Sign in/Out to Sign in with your Microsoft credentials.
- In the LedgerQ ribbon, Tools section, choose Table Import.
- Click Import Tables in the add-in task pane.
- Select file source:
- Local file from your computer, or
- OneDrive to import from Microsoft cloud storage.
- Provide Table Name (optional).
- Provide Sheet Name and Cell reference.
- Click Import.
- Wait for the cell to appear in Word.
Refreshing a value
- Open LedgerQ.
- Find the previously imported value reference.
- Use Refresh to pull the latest value from the source cell.

After changing data in the Excel source file, always save the Excel file before clicking Refresh.
Example
Example below demonstrate note extract where values are automatically linked:
Revenue for the year amounted to €12,450,000 (2025: €10,980,000).
The increase of €1,470,000 compared to the prior year is primarily attributable to higher subscription-based service revenues.

When you import a single value, LedgerQ keeps the figure’s formatting consistent with the paragraph where the value is placed.
Microsoft OneDrive Support
LedgerQ supports importing files from Microsoft OneDrive, as well as from a local folder.
