FAQ
General
Do I need to sign in?
Yes, you ou need to sign in with your Microsoft credentials.
Are my file passwords saved?
No. Passwords for protected Excel files and PDFs are kept in memory for the current session only and are never saved in the document, your account or any log.
Which cloud storage providers are supported?
LedgerQ supports Microsoft OneDrive and Dropbox, in addition to local files, as a source for Excel workbooks and PDFs. Connecting a Dropbox account is separate from signing in with your Microsoft account.
Table Import
Which files are supported for table import?
LedgerQ is designed for Excel xlsx workbook imports used in Word reporting workflows.
My table import failed. What should I do?
Re-run import by verifying the sheet name, cell range and ensure that you've selected the right Excel file.
Can I refresh imported tables later?
Yes. Use the refresh action for previously imported tables to pull updated source values.
Can I control how currency values and other numbers look?
Yes. Turn on Standard Formatting to apply consistent decimal places, negative/zero formats, separators, date format, and whether the currency symbol is shown or hidden. Click Customize to set your own defaults — see Customizing Standard Formatting.
Can I save my imported tables as a template?
Yes. Click Save as template in the Import Table task pane to save the tables and cells in the document as a JSON file. In another document, click Load template to get them back as Not imported cards that you import one by one at the cursor. See Using Templates.
Can I import from a password-protected Excel file?
Yes. LedgerQ asks for the password when you select, refresh or edit the file, then works with it as normal. See Password-Protected Excel Files.
Custom Table
How is Custom Table different from Table Import?
Table Import copies an Excel range as-is. Custom Table lets you define your own categories and value columns to build a pivot-style table from a range, and reuse that structure later via a saved template.
Do templates store the source Excel file?
Custom Table templates do not. Templates only store the value columns, categories and sort options. You still choose the source file, sheet and range each time you use a template.
Annotations
Can I use a password-protected PDF?
Yes. LedgerQ asks for the password when you select the PDF. See Password-Protected PDFs.
Can Annotations update both text and tables?
Yes. Annotation will update both paragraphs and tables as per auditor comments.
Does Annotations respect the same formatting standards as Table import feature?
Annotations respect the same formating standards as Table Import feature for numerical values and dates.
